Firm Overview
I am Timothy M. Sweet, Esq., and I grew up as an only child in Woonsocket and Warwick, Rhode Island. What I remember most about my childhood is playing hockey, watching movies with my dog Midnight, and generally avoiding homework. Today, I am a happily married attorney and author living in Pawtucket. I graduated from Bishop Hendricken High School near the top of my class in 2001, from Providence College in 2005, and from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2008.
Legal Background And Accomplishments
Prior to opening my firm, I served as an intern in the public sector for the Department of Administration in the field of labor law. From there, I went into the private sector, where I became the in-house counsel for a major medical organization in North Providence, and later became a litigation associate for the Moyer Law Office in Warwick.
During law school, I earned the Community Service Award for performing more than 100 hours of pro bono work. Since opening The Law Office of Timothy M. Sweet, LLC, in Providence, in September 2012, I have continued offering pro bono services. I volunteer for the ACLU, VLP and other organizations.
I also am a bit of an art dilettante, so I offer free representation to artists who are struggling with constitutional matters. I have written two books, “The White Rabbit” and “Suzanne.” When I’m not at the office, I spend my time reading, listening to music and teaching.
